Why MUVi Disinfection?

Manual cleaning process highlighting the limitations addressed by MUVi UVC disinfection systems.

Eliminates Human Cleaning Error

A key contributing factor to HAIs is human cleaning error. Whether it is due to a lack of resources, time, staff or simply because a surface got missed, human cleaning errors will always continue to occur.
To eliminate this problem, MUVi acts as a safeguard clean and will enable rapid human less highly touched surface disinfection system and surfaces and will also look upon surfaces that have been ignored earlier during human cleaning.

UV-C is Proven to Kill Bacteria and Viruses

There are different types of UV light. You may be familiar with UV-A, which is known for skin tanning and treating skin disorders such as eczema. Then there is UV-B, which causes skin disease and sunburn.
Then there is UV-C. This type of UV light has the ability to disrupt the DNA structure of bacteria and viruses, subsequently preventing them from replicating or further infecting. It kills common healthcare-associated infections, including C. diff, MRSA, VRE, Acinetobacter, and more.

Why Hospitals Choose MUVi

Hospital cost savings achieved through MUVi UVC disinfection reducing infection-related expenses.

Saves hospitals money

Reducing HAIs by even a small margin can lead to millions in savings. MUVi supports faster, more effective disinfection, helping reduce hospital stays and financial burdens linked to infections.

UV (ultraviolet) light is part of the electromagnetic spectrum, sitting just beyond visible light. It’s divided into three main types: UVA, UVB and UVC. Among them, UVC has the shortest wavelength and the highest energy, making it effective for disinfection.

Germicidal UV light refers specifically to UVC radiation in the 200–280 nm range. This wavelength is effective at breaking down the DNA or RNA of microbes, rendering them inactive and unable to reproduce.

Illustration showing how UVC radiation damages DNA structure, preventing microorganisms from reproducing.

When UVC light penetrates a microorganism, it disrupts the molecular bonds in its genetic material. This process causes structural damage that prevents the organism from multiplying, leading to its deactivation or death.

MUVi systems combine UVC with photoelectron technology. When UVC strikes a surface, photoelectrons are released and cause additional damage to microorganisms. This dual mechanism enhances coverage, speed and overall disinfection performance.
